Recommended Beaches For Learning To Surf

The following beaches are not great for surfing every day. Where and when you surf should always depend on current ocean conditions. When in doubt - don't go out! Always ask a lifeguard or local if you have any concerns.

Hanalei Bay - In the Summer time, Hanalei's shallow, sandy bottom, gentle swells and pristine waters make for perfect conditions for the beginning surfer.

We went to the beach house in August with our families. One of the things my husband and I appreciated was that the master bedroom is actually a separate house with its own deck and bar but at the same time it's connected to the house by a bridge. The house is really cute and clean and the front yard is always abundant with fragrant native Hawaiian flowers. It's location is convenient but quiet, there is a day spa, Mediterranean Restaurant and most importantly, a secluded beach across the street where we were times often the only beach guests. The other highlight for us was the beautiful church in Hanalei where we got married. We loved it and hope to go back soon!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the beach house. It was everything we had hoped for, very comfortable and in a beautiful setting. We would not hesitate to check availability next time we plan a trip to Kauai.
We loved the north shore; Hanalei is a lovely place and Napali Coast is incredible. The beaches in the area are great too, beautiful reefs and gorgeous sunsets.
We loved the location! We love the north shore's beauty. We had the best honeymoon ever and would suggest this place to anyone. My only downfall was the spiders, I hate them...but they are everywhere in Hawaii so I just got used to it! Thanks again.

What I liked best about the unit I rented was the location. Right outside of town, across the street from a beautiful beach. Oh and they have a laundry room. Very nice! My advice to someone else staying at this unit would be to pack the bug spray. A small stream runs behind the place and you are bound to be found by them. Our favorite restaurant was in Lihue, Harmura Saimin. Great noodles. I did pay a deposit of $350.

EXCELLENT location with a "Juicy Jungle" atmosphere. Near the best beaches and short drive to Hanalei. Great espresso across the street.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the beach house studio. It was everything we had hoped for, very comfortable and in a beautiful setting. We would not hesitate to check availability, next time we plan a trip to Kauai.
Terrific place, .... Well located, comfortable. I would happily recommend it to friends if you guys fix the cleaning fee situation.
The Hale Hanealei Beach House was perfect. Very spacious and clean, with a beautiful deck for relaxing and birdwatching. We walked to Tunnels beach for snorkeling every day, and saw a monk seal! There's also a great swimming beach just across the road. We shopped at the Waipa farmer's market and enjoyed cooking delicious fresh food at the house, rather than going out. Thanks for a great vacation!

I think everything was great. The outside hot shower is a real plus. The seating in the living room is good and the lanais are great.We didn't eat out a lot but the Dolphin restaurant in Hanalei was great.
